August 2017

a month brim-full with good times. IMG_6376

family in town! tyler’s sibling were in town, we celebrated with ribs. … and when you’re married to a vegetarian, that means tyler got to eat the entire rack himself. we also hiked the living room trail with oakleigh in the middle of a thunder and lightning storm! my brightest idea yet. speaking of weather, THE ECLIPSE!! i didn’t have special glasses and i had worked the night before, so i set my alarm for 11:00 am and dazedly wandered into the sun, saw nothing, took a photo of the shadow on the road, and went back to sleep.

we went to boise! kourtni got married, i’ll post some photos in another post. here are some from our after party… family in town, featuring my voluptuous sibling booties,  my dad- the lord of the flies, and tyler and me getting ice cream at 11 am.

salt lake weekends! because #nurselife, i often work weekends but august was different! one saturday tyler and i took a tour of all the mormon things in salt lake! the beehive house, conference center, etc. it was pretty neat, i learned all sorts of useless facts about brigham young. that third photo is tyler and his kimball great great grandfather, so we are now fancy mormons. also that first picture is stained glass in our chapel. i cleaned the church and spent much of my time just staring at it.

august brought another pal to salt lake!!! amy moved to utah and we went hiking in little cottonwood, my favorite canyon round here.

other august things:

we have started our house hunting journey! also i watched a lot of bachelor in paradise, so now i refer to everything as a “journey”….

peaches and nectarines came into season, so you know exactly what i have been eating.

i forgot to cancel an free hbo subscription account, so i started watching game of thrones and quickly became completely utterly addicted. if you’ve watched it LET’S TALK and if not, well don’t watch it because it’s on hbo and probably really bad but at this point i have seen so many medieval folk get their throats slit, i have no moral compass. 🙂
